우리 중소·창업기업 판로…미국 조달시장에서 찾는다
10월 11일부터 14일까지 ‘제21차 세계한인비즈니스대회’ 참여,
우수조달·창업기업 제품 동반 전시, 미(美) 연방 조달시장 판로 개척 지원

 조달청(청장 김윤상)은 우수 조달기업과 창업기업의 해외 조달시장 진출 지원을 위해 10월 11일부터 14일까지 미국 캘리포니아주 애너하임 컨벤션센터에서 열리는 ‘제21차 세계한인비즈니스대회(한상대회)’에 참여한다.

 한상대회는 올해 한미동맹 70주년과 한인의 미주 이민 120주년을 기념하여 개최되는 행사이다.

 이번 대회에서는 기업전시회를 비롯해 벤처투자(VC)포럼, 창업기업 경연대회 등 다양한 부대행사가 개최돼 국내의 우수한 중소 조달기업들이 기술력과 경쟁력을 해외 구매자들에게 선보일 수 있어 미국 조달시장 진출 등용문 역할을 할 것으로 예상된다.

 조달청과 창업진흥원은 엘이디(LED)조명장치, 타이어 상태 수집·분석 장치 등을 생산하는 우리 중소기업 10개 사와 공동관을 구성하여 제품과 기술력을 홍보하고 구매 상담을 진행하는 등 현지 조달시장 개척에 나선다.

 특히, 조달청은 미국 연방 조달청(GSA)과의 고위급 협력 회의를 별도로 개최하여 양국의 공공 조달분야 교류·협력을 더욱 강화해 나간다는 방침이다.
 
 김응걸 기획조정관은 “미국 연방 조달시장은 6,000억 달러에 달하는 거대한 시장”이라며“국내에서 기술력이 검증된 조달기업이 미국을 포함한 다양한 해외 조달시장으로 진출할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

PPS Explores Sales Channels for Korean SMEs and Startups in the U.S. Federal Procurement Market
Joining the 21st World Korean Business Convention held from Oct. 11th to Oct. 14th, 2023 and showcasing the companies’ inventive products 

The Public Procurement Service (PPS) will participate in the 21st World Korean Business Convention held at the Anaheim Convention Center, California, USA from October 11th to 14th. This gathering will take place to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance and 120 years of Korean immigration to the Americas.

The event includes various activities such as corporate exhibitions, a venture capital forum, and a startup business competition. This provides an opportunity for the outstanding SMEs and startups to showcase their technological and competitive capabilities to overseas buyers, serving as a gateway for entering the U.S. procurement market.

PPS and KISED (Korea Institute of Startup & Enterpreneurship Development) will jointly set up a pavilion featuring products and technologies of ten Korean SMEs, which produce LED lighting devices, tire monitoring and analysis devices, etc. They will promote their technologically-proven products and engage in business consultations.

In particular, PPS will hold a high-level meeting with the US General Services Administration (GSA) to further enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation in the public procurement sector of both countries.

Kim Eung Keol, Director General of Planning and Coordination, PPS, stated, “The US federal procurement market is massive with a value of $600 billion. We will continue to support domestic companies with proven technologies to expand into various international procurement markets, including the U.S. market."
